Goodbye College Heights

Well, this has been quite a week.

First and foremost, I am being TRANSFERRED! After only 7 weeks here in College Heights ward. I was pretty bummed when I heard about it. I've gotten pretty attached to the area in the short time that I've been here. I love the ward and the people we are teaching. And, I will miss our investigator Amelia's baptism! It's next Saturday, so it will be just after I leave. Super sad :( But even though I am sad, I also feel at peace about it. I know that the Lord must need me somewhere else. I am being transferred to Tehachapi, so I will be up in the mountains away from the heat, so that is a tender mercy at least.

Guess who else is getting transferred to Tehachapi? Sister Alderman, my companion! We are both getting transferred together to the same place. So, we will be staying companions. We will also have another companion who is already in Tehachapi, so we will be in a trio. We'll see how that goes....

Other crazy news is that Margie is in the hospital! I hate to leave her like this. She started coughing up blood last Wednesday, so off to the hospital for her. We visited her on Saturday morning and she seemed to be doing alright. She thinks the blood has to do with her Valley Fever (a crazy illness people can get here in Bakersfield. Look it up on Google, it comes from a bacteria that is in the dirt or something, so when people breathe it in they get sick.)

General Conference was also this weekend! If you didn't get a chance to watch it when it aired, all of the talks are available on lds.org. President Monson announced that 4 new temple will be built, which is so exciting!

Anyway, I am stressed because I am trying to pack and say goodbye to everyone and leave lots of notes for the new missionaries that will be coming into our area (we are being replaced by a set of elders, and the ward is sad because they liked having Sister Missionaries.) But it will all be okay! I am way better at packing this transfer than I was last transfer. Probably by the end of my mission I will be a pro at fitting everything into my suitcases.

Love you all!
Sister Daelemans

Finally I am attaching pictures! It only took the whole transfer....These are from when we went to say goodbye to some members that we are really close to. Their daughter Amelia (far right) is getting baptized next Saturday!
